Picture update

So far the onloy concern has been the issue of uploading the pictures from the camera to my blog.
There has been unsuccessful attempts in trying to upload them from the coumputers in the library, so the only hope is uploading them from home

Update on photo's

Today i started to take photographs which i will use for the cover of the magazine, i will then decide on which one i like the most and the one that will suit better

Just an update, yesterday didn't go quite as planned, although a few pictures were taken, me and rachael and vicky who were also using the same camera, couldn't find out how to upload the pictures from the camera to the computer. Turns out we had to switch the camera on for the pictures to be able to be uploaded.
Oh well, Let tomorrow roll!!

Update on task

I have just gone around with Rachael and Vicky, individually taking photo's of lococations which might be considered for the college magazine.
I will then upload the pictures i took and then decide on which one i like the most out of them, this will then be used as the background and image for my college magazine.
The pictures will be uploaded as soon as possible.

This is a basic idea of how i want my magazine to look. The image on the cover fills out as the background which is what i am going to do with mine. The only difference is that unlike this magazine, my sub headings will be at the side, instead of going across the image like in this magazine.

Today's Task

Today i will be taking photographs of the locations i will use for the cover of the magazine. The photo will be taken using a medium close-up.
I will then decide on which picture i think will be suited for the magazine.
The cover for the magazine will also be used as the background for the magazine, instead having a colour used.

Idea update/Final Decision

I have finally decided on the name i will use on the front page. I decided on the title 'College Weekly'. The reason why i chose this over the others i because i felt that the title represents what the college is about and how it differs from that of secondary schools.

For my choice of location i have decided to use the library as the cover for the magazine. I have decided this because the library is a key place within the college and shows that the students are committed and very hard working.
It will also give a friendly atmosphere of the college and showing not only the hard working side of the students but also the sociable.
The target audience for my magazine will be teenagers and adults from the age of 16 onwards.
The Price of the magazine will be 50p as its cheap and simple.
The Colour's i will use will be red and yellow, symbolising the manx flag.

Ideas for College Magazine

The choices of location for the photographs will either be the library or the main entrance of college. The photograph will two or three students acting sociable, to give the impression that the college is a friendly environment. The photograph will be a medium close-up.

Preliminary exercise

Using DTP and an image manipulation program, the task is to produce the front page of a college magazine,featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus appropriately laid-out text and a masthead. As well as this, a mock up of the layout of the contents page will be produced to demonastrate my understanding and grasp of using DTP
